Mark Matousek is the award-winning author of eight books, including Sex Death Enlightenment: A True Story and Writing to Awaken: A Journey of Truth, Transformation, and Self-Discovery. He is also the founder of The Seekers Forum, an online community dedicated to self-inquiry through expressive writing.
Rooted in the belief that writing can be both a creative and restorative practice, the conference offers a welcoming space for professionals, practitioners, and anyone curious about the transformative possibilities of the written word. Together, we will explore how writing may help us navigate life’s challenges, access inner resources, and cultivate resilience, meaning, and connection.

“The story of your life is a story, and we’re always rewriting it, whether you’re a writer or not.”
- Margaret Atwood
Every life is a creative act an improvisation from start to finish. We create meaning from our experiences, shaping them with value, purpose, and identity. The significance you assign to your experiences ultimately defines the story of your life.
In this workshop, you will explore your core narratives, the hidden stories that shape your current reality. You’ll learn the difference between situation (the circumstances of your life) and story (the meaning you give to those circumstances).
Whether you are writing a memoir or using reflection as a tool for insight, this workshop offers a powerful path toward self-understanding and transformation.
As Homo Narrans, the storytelling species, humans are naturally wired to create meaning through stories. These narratives help us navigate the world, connect with others, and build a sense of identity.
Understanding that your story is not fixed that it can be rewritten is a powerful step toward living a more authentic and awakened life.

1
Understand the trajectory of your life story, Identify areas of misalignment and inauthenticity.
2
Distinguish between your situation and your story, Recognize parts of your story you want to change.
3
Understand how fear and desire shape your identity. Use writing as a tool for insight, clarity, and growth.
