Between Starshine and Clay : A Journalling Workshop on Hope

In today’s challenging times we need hope more than ever. Having hope enables us to navigate uncertainty with a more grounded confidence. Yet this elusive quality can be hard to grasp, let alone sustain.

Journalling can help locate hope, as we use our pens to express and find a shape for those things we want to explore. Journalling may also suggest ways of encouraging hope to grow.

This workshop will explore facets of hope from desire and belief to expectation and motivation. We will look at how journaling can help us nurture it as a daily practice; how we can create a haven of hope to sustain us amid life’s turbulence and the temptation to despair.

We will particularly turn to poetry to inspire our writing together. As the language of possibility, poetry can open up new spaces for growth and invite us to re-imagine our stories in a different way.
